Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care by performing distributional, clinical, educational, and supervisory functions for patients in pediatric services. Supports Hospital’s mission to provide the highest quality care by complying with regulatory guidelines, meeting agency standards, and obtaining appropriate certification.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepare and dispense medication using appropriate techniques and following the health system’s policies and procedures.

2. Design, recommend, monitor, and evaluate patient-specific pharmacotherapy.

3. Provide medication-use education to patients and care givers. 

4. Provide concise, applicable, and timely responses to requests for drug information from health care providers and patients.

5. Provide in service education to physicians, nurses, and other practitioners.

6. Prepares, dispenses, and administers vaccines

7. Use pharmacy support personnel effectively.

8. Effectively manage one’s own practice.

9. Participate in meeting the goals and objectives of the department to ensure the attainment of the health system’s goals and objectives.

10. Clerical functions.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.
